Breakout Box Scenario

Picture

                                                               The Sabotaging at Quest Camp

Quest Camp, where campers explore real-world math problems, was set up for a new camp session. When the camp counselors woke up in the morning, the camp was a mess! All the activities that were set up the day before were sabotaged! They needed everything back in its place before the campers arrived. They looked around and said, “This is a job for the Cuatro Math Marvels!

The Math Marvels arrived as quickly as they could. After assessing the situation, they got to work right away.  They used all their math strategies to set the math activities back in order. How did they do it? That’s your quest for the day.

With your team members, figure out what the Cuatro Math Marvels had to do to set each station correct. They left you a surprise in the locked box as a reward for your teamwork and deep thinking. As you finish each station, you will receive a clue to unlock one of the locks around the locked box that holds the surprise.

See if you can solve the problems as quickly as the Cuatro Math Marvel team did. You will have 45 minutes to complete each puzzle and retrieve the codes to unlock the box.

Good luck teams!
